In addition to sending various character formats such as upper/lower case, and different styles and colors, the characters may "Roll-Up" (the text appears word by word), "Pop-On" (the text appears line by line, and the new text replaces the earlier), or "Paint-On" (the words are not erased but the new text replaces the earlier text). These instructions are sent to the decoder in the form of control codes of the different alphanumeric characters.
